MARVEL Strike Force Guide
The Earth has fallen under siege by sinister forces led by Ultimus. Agents for the Special Tactical Reserve for International Key Emergencies have been called to assemble squads of heroes and villains chiefly from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to combat this threat before it is too late. Team composition is crucial in “MARVEL Strike Force.” There is immense depth of strategy across characters and squads, which typically have [five] characters on the field at a time. Players will build a force of around 70 characters, with even more to be revealed, so that’s a lot of combinations! Squads can be built around iconic characters, such as Nick Fury leading a team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, or built for ideal gameplay combinations for the most competitive teams. Characters like Rocket Raccoon and Groot have unique and powerful abilities when fielded together a vital component of making the most powerful team. Every character has to collect a variety of gear in order to grow stronger, and they have [three to four] unique abilities each. As abilities improve, new mechanics will unlock and reveal new tactical options. For example, Daredevil might start out attacking a single target at a time, but will quickly grow to chain his martial arts maneuvers to multiple enemies in a single attack. This expands your combat options quite a bit as your characters improve, leading to more and more depth of strategy over time.As with Galaxy of Heroes' Light and Dark divide, Strike Force's conceptual split is between superheroes and supervillains, with each side having its own single player campaign for you to work through. You can, however, combine all your characters together to create a mixed squad to complete in PVP battles, Alliance Raids, and other challenges. And given the wide appeal of the Marvel universe - which in this case also encompasses the X-Men so the likes of Wolverine are included - building out your ideal squad and working to unlock new characters is one of the game's strongest draws.
You earn specific character shards by completing specific missions, with more valuable characters requiring more shards from higher level missions. Unlocking Iron Man takes 310 shards compared to 180 for Hulk and a mere 15 for a generic Hydra Sniper. The game also has a strong gear collection mechanic. Yet the most important element is building out a balanced five-hero/villain squad, which typically means combining high attack power with strong support character like tanks, healers, and stealthy operators. Not only is this one of the most impressive-looking mobile games in terms of its graphics and special effects, but the character animations are truly spectacular. Significantly, this isn't just the case in terms of the characters you'd expect to be cool such as Spider-Man's web-spinning, swinging Tangled Web attack but in terms of the fluid and athletic interaction between characters. In terms of my current squad, for example, before Elektra has finished her Sneak Attack, Gamora's Ruthless Blade is in motion and then Spider-Man's ducking down to allow Punisher to trigger his Fully Loaded attack over-the-top. This is all captured by a swooping dynamic camera, which zooms in to highlight special attacks. In fact, despite the autoplay options, this is one mobile game worth playing at normal speed and watching what happens. At the risk of sounding cliched, it really is poetry in motion. Marvel Strike Force will utilize turn-based combat where you can play at your own pace. There seems to be a ton of emphasis on team strategy and squad synergy. According to Bender, there are around 70 different characters available to choose from, including Defenders like Luke Cage and Jessica Jones, Guardians like Groot and Drax, and many of the Avengers. Solo heroes like Night Nurse, Doctor Strange, Quake, and Spider-Man will also be featured in the game. Additionally, every character will have unique gear and abilities that can be upgraded to improve their strength and unlock new tactical options. Although the teaser trailer below features primarily player-vs-enemy content, player-vs-player will be included from the start as well. And, of course, there will be Alliances - essentially clans - for you to join with friends and other players to conquer Raids and battle Ultimus together.MARVEL Strike Force will utilize turn-based combat where you can play at your own pace.
